Jocul va conține cele mai bune melodii ale trupei ca ”Whiplash”, ”Master of Puppets”, ”Orion”, ”Fade to Black”, ”The Unforgiven” sau ”Welcome Home(Sanitarium)”. De asemenea trupe precum Alice in Chains sau Judas Priest, Queen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Slayer, Motorhead sau System of a Down vor avea melodii ce vor fi cântate ca ”Opening Acts”. Cei ce au cumpărat albumul downloadabil ”Death Magnetic” pe Xbox 360 sau PlayStation 3 pentru Guitar Hero 3 sau World Tour, vor găsi aceste melodii în modul ”Career” cât și în Quick Play și Multiplayer.
